So what it is that a Private Detective really does?

Oddly enough most people think this question but very few actually ask it until they get to know us better. It’s after all a very direct ‘what are you doing and how much does it cost’ type of question but as the matters involved are often sensitive then many people feel afraid to ask.

We’re only too happy to tell anyone what we do, how we do it (within reason of course – we have to keep some trade secrets!) and how much it costs. What surprises most people though is that we do everything within the law.

Raised on a diet of TV detectives and mavericks who are happy to bend the law to get a result the public expectation is that we are all slightly crooked. Nothing could be further from the truth, even though if you listened to the evidence at the Leveson Inquiry you may be forgiven for thinking so. Many of our investigators are former policemen with huge experience in investigating crimes and a deep and thorough understanding of the law. It makes sense of course as if we are going to give you the evidence you need to for example, bring a prosecution against a crooked employee, the last thing you want is for the evidence to be deemed inadmissible as it was obtained incorrectly.

So if you want to know what we do before we start, please feel free to ask. We’re happy to help.
